Met a friend face-to-face, after months and months and months of not meeting up due to the COVID-19 lockdown. To show our love for each other, we did some awkward octopus arm touching of shoulders, one metre apart.
There’s a name for this weird feeling you are having—it’s called disenfranchised grief. And it’s ok to grief for small losses like not being able to hug your friends. Or, not being able to travel. You.are.not.being.selfish.
